Things are changing
I feel it.
We’re growing into different lives,
Different directions,
Whether we want to or not.
But something stays.
Even as we move,
Even as things shift—
We’re still tied to each other
In ways I don’t think will ever undo.
We may not always be here,
Not like this,
Not all at once—
But we were.
And somehow,
That feels like something
That will last.

Katrine Krogstrup is a Danish poet who has always found meaning in the smaller details of life. Living with autism has shaped the way she experiences and questions the world, which she brings into her poetry as she explores family, love, loss, memory, and the quiet process of becoming.
